Course Description
This is a two-day introduction to the basic elements of a project, intended to familiarize the participants with common project management terms, current thinking about projects, and the nuts and bolts of project management. Topics include: project management basics; the project life cycle, work breakdown structures (WBS), the role of a project manager, project goals; planning tools and closing out a project. Participants will prepare for and conduct a project presentation. Participants will develop their own personal action plan. Instruction consists of PowerPoint, structured activities in small and large groups, discussion groups and individual Action Plans. Pre-Assessments are used to identify areas for participant skill development. Post-Assessments are used to measure participant knowledge transfer and identify areas for further study. The course is very interactive.
